Where are your stores?
While we daydream of our perfect brick & mortar flagship, our Mandels are currently sold online and at a handful of local and independent specialty shops throughout LA.
Is Mandel Bread bread?
Short answer: no.
Mandel Bread comes from the yiddish word “Mandelbrot” which literally translates to “Almond Bread.” Before Mandels are individually sliced, the dough is baked as a loaf which might explain why it is referred to as “bread.”
Is Mandel Bread biscotti?
Short answer: kind of (but better).
Traditional Italian biscotti recipes skip any fat altogether, resulting in the bone-dry, break-your-tooth texture we’ve never really enjoyed. For us, fat equals flavor, which is why our recipes call for both organic butter and organic eggs. This results in our signature texture which is both crunchy and cakey at the same time!
But the best way to understand the magic of Mama’s Mandels is to taste one for yourself. We promise it will be love at first bite!
TLDR: Mandel Bread = Jewish Biscotti.
My family is eating less sugar, can we eat your Mandels?
That depends. If you are cutting out sugar completely, then sorry, you'll have to do without most cookies. However, Mama’s has a lower sugar content and never uses high fructose corn syrup. In fact, we only use organic sugars!
Are your Mandels vegan and/or gluten free?
Not yet! While our Mandels are currently not vegan or gluten free, the animal products we do use are certified organic and our wheat flour is unbleached, non-GMO and American-grown. Baby steps!
Are your Mandels certified organic?
Organic farming means the world to us but our company is not yet certified organic. Check our products page for all ingredient information. As you'll see, whenever possible, our ingredients are organic and beyond!
Are your Mandels certified kosher?
While each and every ingredient we use is independently kosher certified, our company is not yet certified kosher (working on it).
How do I set up a wholesale account?
Please contact us here to inquire about a partnership. We'd love to hear from you!
How should Mandels be stored?
In a cool, dry, easily accessible place. Lunch boxes, coffee tables and cookie jars are good. Glove compartments are bad. Resist the urge to put it in your refrigerator or freezer. Do not place in direct sunlight.
